This time, we actually have planters on our porch that was given to us, and we will be planting dill, oregano, garlic chives (I honestly thought those grew as weeds, who knew!), and peppermint in one planter. In the other, we bought a packet of a mixture of annual cut flowers. Impressive sounding, huh, well...let me tell you what is in them - Strawflower, Aster, Crego, Calendula, Plains Coreopsis, Bachelor Button-mixed, Clarkia, Cosmos-Sensation Mixed, Chinese forget-me-nots, Larkspur-Giant Imperial Mixed, Gysophila-Elegans White, Corn Poppy, Black-Eyed Susan, Marigold-Crackerjack Mixed, Zinnia-Cactus Mixed, Godetia. All of this sounds very impressive...but I have no idea what I just told you I was going to plant. Might be a good idea to look this stuff up now!

Saturdays at Our House
Today is Saturday. Josh only has to work for half a day on the Spirit of Grace, and then we will be attempting to plant some herbs and flowers outside our RV. I say attempt, because this will be our third attempt at trying to grow plants. We started last year before Hurricane Rita, and nothing has happened...we grew weeds - IN POTTING SOIL!

Pregnancy and Other Wonders of the World

I have been told that your don't have the same pregnancy twice, and I was scared because I thought I had it pretty good last time! I can't believe the difference (all good) between the two pregnancies. With Ruth, I puked every day, sometimes twice a day, for a month. This time, I have puked 7 times - that is it! Okay, so that is only one difference, but believe me, it is a HUGE one!
Food - with Ruth I was limited to what I could eat, yet felt that if I didn't eat every two hours I would die. This time, I can eat anything - even peppers - and I really have no appetite whatsoever. If I haven't eaten by noon, I start to feel it, but no where near as bad as last time.
What could these differences mean?

Growing up

Dirty like Daddy

Ruth loves her Daddy. She gets REALLY excited when he comes home from work, but he is usually all dirty and greasy from working in the engine room of the Grace.
Yesterday, at lunch, Ruth was hanging around her Daddy while he got his lunch together, and she got dirty like him. When he sat down, she leaned against him, and her while right side was black with...that stuff you see on Josh's leg. Her hands were dirty from holding on the his hair (he sits her on one shoulder, and she cuddles with his hair while we walk to lunch), and all around her mouth she had a five o'clock shadow. Ruth's "cuddling" consists of wrapping your hair around her fingers, and sucking her thumb. When you have dirty grungy hair (from work)like Daddy...well.

Our first post
Vacation Memories

Josh had his heart set on getting my on a snow machine. for those of you in the "Lower 48," that means a big overpowered snow mobile. He found a "safe" one to take me on, it would only go 35 mph with one person on it.
I did have fun while on the machine, however, those of you who know me know that I am no thrill seeker! So, while I enjoyed my time with Josh, and watching Josh go to town jumping berms, etc., I prefer to stay home and raise babies. By the way, Thank you Lee and Peggy for watching Ruth, while I enjoyed memories with Josh!
Vacation and Real Life

We just got back from a three week MUCH NEEDED vacation. Both sets of grandparents got to finally meet Ruth. I think Ruth really liked being around them...she has both sets wrapped around her little fingers already!
This is our little Ruthie-Bear with her Aunt Christin when we went to visit the Holbritters in Pennsylvania.
We are now back in Louisiana. Life is getting back to "normal," whatever that really is. Ruth and Mama have finally found a routine that they both agree on, so life is good! Josh is working in the Engine Room on the Spirit of Grace. He comes home QUITE dirty every day. Thankfully, with this pregnancy, I am not as sensitive to his diesel smell as I was with Ruth. Maybe that means I will have a rough and tumble mechanic son??!?!?!?!?
Oh well. I will go now, there is so much to think about and due when a baby sleeps!
