Seven Weeks to go!

Well, here we are. Soon our little family of three will be a new family of four. Seven weeks. Wow...time is speeding by, and crawling at the same time.

Anyway, I don't have much to say, just wanted you to know that-yes, Rebekah really is pregnant! (I have been asked by two different people in the last three weeks at church if I was pregnant.) Oh well, you win some, you lose some. I was just INCREDIBLY happy that I could say, "Yes, there is a GOOD reason why I look as big as a barge!"

We are alive!

So much has happened since we were last on here...how am I supposed to remember what I haven't told you?

The biggest news would be that Ruth is now MOBILE!!!! Yes, my dear 11 month old is walking - more like toddling - around! SIGH!
In three weeks, Ruth will be a year old. I am not at all sure what to do with myself. I can hardly believe how FAST life goes once you have a baby! It seems like yesterday I was wishing Ruth could interact beyond eating and sleeping - and suddenly I find myself chasing down a girl who has a mind of her own!
Ruth is an amazing child...she seems to comprehend more than most would think a child can at this age. When Mommy is being an emotional pregnant woman, Ruth is right there trying to make her smile. When asked a question, Ruth will more often than not nod her head and say (and MEAN) yes. When throwing a fit, Josh or I will ask her if she needs to go lay down - and she will nod her head and toddle off to our bedroom and LAY DOWN! Is Ruth gifted, or are most babies like this? This is an honest question!

This new baby...what can I say? It seems to be taking up TOO MUCH ROOM! However, I am very happy to announce, that Mommy is only gaining baby-weight! This is a complete answer to prayer for me, as my doctor was kind enough to point out that since I didn't wait longer between pregnancies...I will just keep "packing on the pounds" with each new baby. It is amazing how an insult can goad a stubborn person into something! Actually, I think I have God to thank for my lack of weight gain. Beyond eating to keep the two of us alive - I have not had a single ounce of desire for food since getting pregnant!

Have I said to much already? I am noticing more and more that I am getting diarrhea of the mouth these days. Could be the amount of time spent with a little girl who can only say up, more and all done!

I don't know if I told you, but since we came home from Ohio, Josh has been working out at the Mechanic Shop. Well, it all started with him being asked to rebuild the frame on a crane (it also "helps" that the Chief Engineer of the Grace is not here at this time). Then all four mechanics went to LA to get some stuff for the property, so Josh has had two weeks of fixing stuff by himself. Sooner or later, the Chief will come back...but not before Josh is able to rebuild the P&H Crane that we have had for years...

I am working a couple hours a day in the office, cleaning bathrooms and sweeping and mopping the floors. Who knows what I will be doing in two months - beyond taking care of a new Gift from God! Ruth "helps" me in the office, charming and entertaining everyone who walks through.

glutton for punishment?

I really don't like pregnant pictures. I do them so all of you who live far away can see the baby. Eleven more weeks to go.

I'm kind of excited...Doctors visits have stepped up to two weeks - that means we are getting close.

What do you think, Dad, still carrying like I did with Ruth?

Sunday Best

See my new dress? Some friends of Mama and Daddy gave it to me! Mama says I look like a little lady when I wear this dress!

Full Bloom

Ok, so does it make me a bad Mama that I am adding a picture of a flower instead of a picture of my daughter?
This is our first flower (see previous blog). I thought the last picture was pretty cool, but I have been persuaded that a flower in full bloom is much prettier than a flower just beginning to bloom. OR - I could get REALLY philosophical and discourse on the different stages of beauty in a blooming flower, and then draw out the similarities to life, or growing children, etc. But I won't...I will let your own thoughts take you there!
By the way, Ruth fed herself macaroni and cheese tonight - with an adult fork ALL BY HERSELF! My baby is growing up! I know this is supposed to happen (my Mom was kind enough to point that out), but that doesn't mean you are necessarily ready for it when it happens! Honest, I am getting over it.

Growing Like a Well-Tended Flower

Ruth is trying to walk now...however, she is picky as to when she will walk. She won't walk if you are sitting on the floor wanting her to walk to you, she much prefers to test her limits at her own convenience. I hear that is how her Dad was...
While Ruth can say Da-da, she seems to much prefer calling us "Om" and "Ad" when she wants our attention.

Two Years and 2 Days of JOY!!!

Hello,

I know. Where have I been? I won't give excuses.

Josh and I celebrated two years of marriage on Monday the 16th of April. I cannot thank God enough for the strength, hope and wonderfulness He has given me in Josh! Josh and I have known each other for 4 years, and have been married for two of those four years. Josh and I met four years ago with the hope of just playing cards - that seems to be a Friend Ships trend, by the way.

Do you know what a joy it is to marry your best friend, and to watch each other grow together?
